Package in the Mail
Eva and Elijah got a package in the mail today. Clothes from Auntie Melanie and Uncle Nathan (or god-daddy as he prefers). Melanie, on her Saturday routine, found these duds at the Salvation Army -- hooray for cute clothes and good deals. Side note - I have accompanied Melanie on one Saturday morning, what a fun time we had. I found a green sweater and "Impulse", a polaroid camera with a snappy looking case. Pretty much every time I comment on some article of clothing Melanie owns (most recently it was a lovely black wool coat) it ends up that she found it at the Salvation Army -- she is a supreme super thrift finder. Anyways, here are some photos of the kids in their new clothes.

Thanks for your comments and prayers about the sleeping. I think it has been somewhat better. Eva still wakes quite frequently, but Elijah not as much (in fact Elijah slept from 10:30-8:30 last night, again, we're not getting our hopes up, but just enjoying what comes our way). Lance was away again for part of this weekend, now he will be back for a long stretch so we can try to re-establish bedtime routine and I'll have him if I need help in the night.

Okay, I better go. I do have that book recommendation on my mind, but I want to really tell you about it well and I don't feel I have the creative juices to string words together right now.

one last thing -- do you see my new map - it shows where the people reading my blog are from - very exciting. already I am wondering about my far away dots -- Australia? Perhaps I shall have to call out the lurkers. Thanks to Jamie - that's where I discovered the map.

Have a good night.

When the cat's away..
the mice won't sleep.

we are having some real sleep problems here. For the past number of nights - over a week, a 2hr stretch of sleep is counted as a miracle. Seems like the kids are more burpy than usual, waking up 5 minutes after a feeding, then half hour later, an hour later... this is very very difficult.

Lance is on tour right now with the rawling brothers - a rocky mountain music band - kind of country, gospel, bluegrassy. He's playing bass and having a lot of fun. Mom's here to help me with Eva and Elijah - she is big help - but like she says, Lance's shoes are very big and she only fills part of them. I sure miss Lance at night when I'm the only parent on duty with the kids. Mom helps to facilitate naps during the day - and makes me delicious meals. I actually told her I thought last night's supper was sent from heaven (pretty good considering it was easy - chicken baked in canned soup, cooked carrots, mashed potatoes and a salad)

please pray for us. thank you.

Aimee

ps. a book recommendation to come.
stay tuned

the e's go bananas! and some holiday pics
major milestone yesterday. eva and elijah had their first "solid" food! bananas. elijah wasn't really into it, but did better today. eva was a prostar right from the get go. grabbing the spoon and helping her papa feed her. here are some photos:

a few photos from our holiday:

The three youngest cousins

Our little family went on a walk around mill lake on Christmas. A special time together.

Eva got a dolly from Grandpa Lando and Grandma Kathy, her name is Emily.

We had a quick visit at Schulz's house, here cousin Anna watches Elijah try her Jolly Jumper

Eva and Elijah on "Christmas Eve" at Gramps and Grammy's house - we celebrated on the 29th when we came home.

Cousin Sarah on Boxing day - she's so lovely.

Cara and Andy opening gifts on boxing day. I love Cara's expression here.

Recent Fun
Schulz's bought Eva and Elijah an excersaucer - what a generous gift! Do you think Eva likes it?

We used these bath ring/seats for the first time the other day - they were a hit. The kids were always trying to reach for the toy that the other had. Here Elijah stretches for the little duck that Eva has.

After bath photos

Another new thing we've been doing is jumping. Cousin Sarah leant us her "Merry Muscles" jumper. Both Elijah and Eva love jumping and they crack us up with their moves. Here's a photo of Eva jumping and Elijah in the swing while I get a little work done in the kitchen.

I've got two crying kids, I better go.

ps. kids are no longer crying so here's some more...

we're sick again. colds. very runny noses. so far lance is okay, but the rest of us feel yucky.

eva has cut her first two teeth. this made for a somewhat cranky holiday.

both kids can now roll from back to front. elijah is a pro and seems quite pleased with himself. eva is just getting the hang of it.

sleep - we could sure use some. i think the kids have been having gas/burping issues that wake them up frequently (eva) and make it hard to get to sleep initially (elijah). whilr in abbotsford we had two of our worst nights ever. i've been trying think about if my diet has changed and if thar is causing the problems, so far inconclusive.

we had a marvelous time in bc. photos later. thanks for the pants comments - turns out i had packed more than i thought. okay now i better go.
