Art etc. |
I have decided to commit Fridays to art. I work at CLBI on Mon, Tues, and Thursday mornings. Wednesday morning is a meeting with discipleship group leaders. But Fridays, there is nothing officially scheduled for Friday mornings. Between 8:30 and 3:15 I have had nothing scheduled - until now. The pastor at our church has been doing a series on pursuing the dreams God has given us, the seeds he's given us. I think art is one of my seeds but I haven't been taking it seriously. So Fridays will be dedicated to art. Last Friday was my first attempt. I spent all morning on the computer looking for information that would help me solve a problem I am having with me darkroom. I didn't really find what I was looking for and felt like I'd wasted the morning. Lance was encouraging to me - saying maybe I just spent too much time searching on the computer, but that I was doing art related stuff, and he reminded me that the morning before I had gone out early to take a roll of pictures - which I haven't done in forever. So, we'll see how it goes.
We have acquired an old school - as old as Lance I guess - Polaroid Land Camera. Originally I thought it was worthless and didn't want it cluttering up our house. Lance often points out that I don't like things that I don't know about. Hmmm. In this case that's true. I've been researching about the camera on the internet and found out it takes pack film and that I can still get the film and batteries for it. Now I am totally excited about it and can't wait to try it out. The format of the photos is different than the format of the cameras Melanie and I got this summer. I'm trying to get film by the time Melanie comes - we'll have an instant picture festival, digital and polaroid!
Well, let's see, anything else of interest to share.
I grocery shopped on Monday - I didn't really make meal plans before I went but did upon arriving home. I also made a long list of "Delicious food options" and posted it on the fridge. This is to help Lance - and me too - with snack/lunch ideas. So far it has been somewhat helpful. Tonight for supper it will be whole wheat spaghetti with creamy asparagus and red pepper sauce. I'm inventing it - so I hope it's tasty. Not sure about protein, maybe I'll just make it a cheesy sauce.
That's all for now.
Hope you are well.
Aimee
ps. I regret to inform Melanie, and the rest of the blogging community, that her visit doesn't encompass a Monday, and so, there will be no opportunity to reunite in badminton intensity. :(
