Christmas Eve |
I bet you didn't know it is Christmas Eve tonight. Since Lance and I will out at the coast with my family for Christmas - and away from his family - we are celebrating tonight with his folks and sister. I am looking forward to it. I love being with them, they really are family to me.
We'll eat a big dinner, exchange gifts, laugh a lot (we always do) sing some and we'll see what else.
Lance's folks own the local Scandinavian Bakery/Cafe here in Camrose and it is super busy at Christmas time. The hotest seller is Lefse - a soft tortilla-like flatbread made from potatoes, butter and flour. People are crazy about it and its hard to keep up with orders. Today they were taking orders for tomorrow - since the Lefse the were making was to fill todays orders. Last Christmas Lance and I were helping out there but this year we haven't been. It feels a little wierd to not be involved in the busyness - I'm fine with that though.
The reason I'm telling you about their business is that I expect they'll be quite tired. I hope the celebration is still enjoyable.
I love giving and receiving gifts - another reason to look forward to tonight.
I said I'd be in charge of dessert - this is partially just to make sure that there is a sugar-free dessert for me. I'm going to make Christmas fruit pie (Apple, Cranberry, Raspberry) and Cranberry Pear tarts. I still have to make this (the crust is chilling) so I better get moving.
A special note to Dan - I'm glad you read my blog - I read yours too and love it. I will try to post more regularly.
Well, have a good evening folks, may God bless and guide you.
