stuffy noses
3 out of four of us have stuffy noses. this morning i tricked eva into thinking that having snot sucked out of her nose with the aspirator is fun - she was actually smiling. elijah would not be fooled and let me know he hated it. i haven't tried it on lance...and so far i'm healthy.

the days fly by and are full. each day contains some beautiful peaceful moments where i am overcome with love for each of my children. each day also has moments where i am overwhelmed by two babies screaming at the same time and breasts that don't want anyone near them for an hour please!

here are a bunch of photos for you.

i got outside with the camera and without the kids for a couple minutes. the light was lovely on the trees in front of our house.

elijah is wearing a vintage hand-me-down shirt i love and eva is wearing cousin sarah's sweater.

Elijah looks up at Lance while Lance tries to make Eva smile for the next photo.

Hi Papa!

We call her our buzz cut princess.

Another hand-me-down. I like this one too. :)

My guys hanging out.

"I KNOW it's a turtleneck, my mom bought it and makes me wear it"

I bought two shirts for Elijah at our thrift store -- one had tiny race cars and one had tiny space ships, they were in good condition, cheap and long sleeved for fall. I took them to the counter and as I was buying them realized they were turtlenecks -- I thought they were regular t-shirts with a couple snaps in the front - turns out those snaps go in the back. Now turtlenecks aren't the coolest but I bought the shirts anyways. I told Lance and he affectionately called Elijah our little nerd.

Oops. Someone didn't operate the fingernail clippers very well. I don't think this photo does it justice. I cut a chunk out of Elijah's thumb. His hand got all bloody, but before I could document it for the blog he had sucked it clean. Yuck. This was one week ago today and he is healing well. He forgave me almost immediately -- that could be because I have the milk. :)

We are heading to BC on Oct 6, we'll be there for a week. Maybe we'll see some of you blogger friends.

Lance has been invited to be a part of a music and reading night at Pacific theatre. He will be playing three nights - the thursday, friday and saturday after thanksgiving - I think this is oct 12,13,14. He will be playing the most on the thursday and less on the other nights. Check out pacific theatre's website for tickets and details.

he will also be playing two house shows and at house of James -- lots of chances to get your "Lance fix". See the hoj website for details -- sorry I don't have info about the house shows.

Okay that's all for now.

Aimee

ps. I'm enjoying reading the blogs - don't comment much - typing and nursing can be a little tedious.

I haven't tried it on Lance!! Funny Aimee - he's not gonna be tricked. I like seeing Eva's quilt getting a work out. The children are incredible. Thank you for the new pictures. Super light on the tree too as you said. The little nerd looks just fine in his turtleneck. I think there are different rules for babies. Now if Lance went to work in a space ship turtleneck that would be something.

That little bunny sweater is so cute! I like the carrot on the sleeve.
Amazing that you could trick Eva into liking the aspirator -- I would have liked to be a fly on the wall to see the antics that made that possible. I thought Josh put up a pretty good fight as a baby when it came to the aspirator, until I have recently had to contend with Cherith. Maybe I forgot to try being tricky though, and just assumed off the top that she would hate it. I mean... it can't feel good. I sure don't want to have it done.

Aimee, I totally thought of you when I used Pandemonium. It was awesome. You will be forever associated with that word. How cool!

And oh my goodness. I laughed for about five minutes straight when I looked at that photo of your mom with the pelet gun... ack! I wish I had one of those this weekend!

    Thanks for the laugh.

oh dear for the little finger. Dave, my husband, took the first chunk out of Corrina's finger, and he has sworn off cutting her nails. If i had the pleasure of stopping after accidents she would have supermodel nails. How do they grow so fast?!
Isn't it awful to see your babes blood? It is suppose to be inside, and stay inside! Today while i was out for a walk i hit a little bump.. happens all the time... but this time the bump was followed with a loud wail of pain. I ran around front to see a very mad baby, with a little blood on her lip. I guess when we hit the bump her teeth dug into her soft flesh, and well, ouch!
Oh, the adventures. Babies heal well, especialy mother's milk babes!
    Take care
    Janie
