For Grandma Kathy -- 14 hrs away
This is a post for my mom -- certainly long awaited. I promised now that she's gone I'd send photos. Well, doing anything other than baby care takes many days for me to work up to. But here I am. Since I was going to email her these photos I thought of you, my faithful readers (when there is something to read) and thought I'd let you in on the goodies. Eva and Elijah are currently sleeping (albeit fitfully for Elijah) on the living room floor and I'm typing this from the dining room table, using our free wireless internet (thanks to one of our unsuspecting neighbors). Last night was great -- I think I got a stretch of 4hrs of sleep! Also got a couple hour or two sections. I feel well rested. Nice. Okay, so here are some pics.

First some photos from the early weeks when mom was here:

From when dad was out:

Now some more recent photos -- from yesterday and today. Eva is wearing a top from Grandma Kathy (which works as a dress for now), and Elijah is wearing a shirt from her -- the matching pants got sent to the laundry basket following a faulty diaper job by me and a whole lot of pee on Elijah's part. Elijah does not like "tummy time" but it makes for some great photos and develops his muscles. Both Eva and Elijah are more reliably finding their hands - Elijah pretty much tries to jam his whole fist in his mouth. They are making more official "baby sounds" and Eva has started giving a few interactive smiles, mostly to her dad, but I got a couple too.

We are loving being parents. At times we are so worn out we can't believe it. How can I possibly feed another baby? Lance is a pro diaper changer and burper. Many times, even in the middle of the night we will look down at the beautiful faces of our little ones and be filled with joy. We are in love with them. They are precious gifts.

Okay, I'm getting a little tired and think these babies are waking up soon so I'll just write some point form stuff.

--Festivals -- Lance has played at music festivals for the last two weekends I brought the twins and was so excited about getting to incorporate them into this part of our life.

--Grammy and Gramps -- Grammy (Lance's mom) has been coming over a couple days a week to help with the babies and the house. Gramps is a little jealous. :) They came over on Sunday - brought lunch, and then rocked the kids into deep sleep so Lance and I could have a much needed nap (Saturday night was one of the worst yet)

-- Me -- I'm recovering very well. Enjoying my new role as mom. Needing to get some new shirts to accomodate what I think Kristal referred to as "the situation" :)

eva's up and i'm down to one handed typing better go.

Thanks Aimee. I see Eva and Elijah's cheeks are getting chubby - so CUTE - and their little bodies are growing and filling out more too. I'm going to be enjoying these pictures. It's fun to see them in the little clothes I chose for them.:) It's like they're wearing my hugs.

    Love you all,
    Mom/Grandma

i love the picture of eva on the bottom here... all propped up and so delicate looking. and the one of kathy admiring elijah -- the way the light is resting on them.

rejoicing at 4 hours sleep. only a few months ago i was still functioning on such broken sleep, and now if i have to get up more than once from 7:30 pm - 8 am, i feel tired. hopefully soon you'll look back and be amazed at how you survived!

isn't it amazing how much you love them, and then the next day, you find you love them even more? i just recently got this book with stories that say "i love you". i bet you'd like it -- joshua is thrilled when i read this one to him. i think he's understanding it's message, and i like how the collection helps put words and pictures to my love for the kids. definitely a keeper. i really am liking scholastic.

I Love You [ISBN 0439847990] includes:
I Love You Because You're You, I Love You, Too, I Love You, Stinky Face, I Love You Through and Through , Mama Loves You.

your kids are looking beautiful. they sure look different from one another eh? thanks for taking the time to post!

Beautiful little people your babes are becoming! LOVE IT! Isn't it amazing how God allows us to function on such little sleep in those first few months? Wouldn't you just DIE for a full 8 hour stretch? I know. I know. It will come, I promise.

Oh sleep, precious sleep! We are thankful that Natalie has been a wonderful sleeper but lately has been up for a feeding sometime between 4-6am...and I feel like I'm going to DIE. I can't imagine HOW tired you guys must be. But isn't it wonderful???

I'm glad there's someone to share "the situation" with. =)

betcha part of the reason lance gets smiles is because of his new glasses. babies love sharp contrast. my brother has thick black frames and gets baby smiles early too.
