It was so special this weekend to get to spend some time with my auntie Genny and my cousin Sammie. They were in Camrose for the synchronized skating Westerns. They came over for a little visit on Friday. The kids really liked them. Here they are playing with the music toys:

On Saturday we put the kids down for naps and I rushed over to the rink to find that they started early and I had missed Sam's team. I was so dissappointed. I stayed and watched some of the other teams and learned a little about the sport from Genny.
Then today we packed up the whole family and headed to the rink - early this time. As soon as we saw Genny I asked, "Did we miss her?". No, thank goodness. So we played with the kids, watched some hockey on the other rink, and hung out with Kortney while we waited for Sam's team. Like I said in the previous post, Sam's team did great. Turns out they came 4th out of 10 teams so they did very well. Sam also plays hockey (goalie like her dad!), Genny says it's quite the contrast to watch her in skating and then watch her play hockey. She's the best skater on her hockey team, and that's not usually the case with goalies!
Here are some pictures from today (I don't usually like to post out of focus pictures, but when they're all you've got... I've never photographed sports before, and most of it was through the glass, so I guess they're good enough) Sammie is second from the left
 Sammie is front and center

In this shot you can see Sam's proud mom Genny, in the background just over Sam's shoulder.

We had a lot of fun getting to see family and watching Sam skate!
okay, I'd better get that cute crying boy out of his crib.

It's been so cool looking at these pictures - seeing Sam and Genny in your living room - the same living room we were in the day before!!
I've also enjoyed the pictures of her skating and princess Kortney.
Love, Mom
