New Look Obviously & Some Thoughts on Males |
So, as you can see I have tried a new look. After years of the same green and yellow dots hummingbird has a new face. And I must say I like it a lot. I was inspired by Avey (one of my new links - see sidebar) and was happy to find a free template that wasn't generic. After installing it I am happy to announce that I figured and fiddled my way to some adjustments in colour and now have it almost how I want it. I would still like some sort of title near the top, so any tips on that would be welcome (Avey, I did email the girl but she never got back to me, oh well)
Thanks for delurking. so crazy to find out who's reading. Most of you I know but there are some of you who I can't even figure out how you got here. And one of you made me laugh - you delurked as anonomous and didn't say your name. That doesn't actually qualify as revealing your identity.
One observation about all 41 comments received so far. Do you see the common thread in all of them? They are all women. I know for a fact that I have male readers. But they aren't announcing themselves. I have some theories as to why this is the case.
1. They know I know they read, so even though they've never commented they don't consider themselves lurkers. 2. They are a little embarrassed that they are men in a woman's world - blogs, atleast in my blog circle, tend to be mostly written and read by females and what would it say about their manhood if they announced their presence here? 3. They don't want to admit that they find mundane details of my life that interesting (what would that do to the stereotype that women are totally into little details whereas guys are more about the big picture - Lance and I have countless laughs over our differences in this area) 4. Maybe they just don't want to comment simply because I asked them to.
Well guys, now maybe you'll never announce yourselves - and that is fine. And maybe there are only three of you afterall. But if you're reading and you know I don't know - as in you've never told me in person that you read - I dare you to comment.
Yeah, that will really work Aimee, just dare them and watch the comments fly in.
Well it was worth a try. Doesn't a girl have a right to know the demographics of her readership?
Enough about that. I should probably go to bed.
Hope you, and I mean all of you, males and females, are well.

Well now you've done Aimee. Now that you have called us out, we men band together and bang our puffed out chests and say "Ugh!" Have you ever thought that another word for lurking might be stalking? -Schulz-

yes, men. I dare you.
Your title would look cute curved around the side of your tree. Or in the grass. You would save the title image, fiddle with it in your photo program and resave. Then upload it to the host (such as photobucket) and paste that info into your template. -says shannon who makes it sound easy but would really make her husband do it and has been too lazy to fix her own broken template for at least six months.

Aimee . . . I'm not male, but I did mean to respond to your last post and let you know that I lurk on your blog every now and then.
Feel free to check out my blog www.christenfamily.blogspot.com.
I'm in a very similar stage of life (mom to a one-year old), so I can relate to a lot of your posts :)

I am just being obedient to my wife and letting her do all the talking....Just the way it should be.
Sorry I can't leave my name, my wife would kill me when she finds out that I am out of the kitchen

I for one am offended! ok not really but I do object to blogs being labeled female territory, I blog all the time! and this details nonsense... well thats probably true... I just felt like my kvetching should go on longer but apperantly I am done. Tim Oh! and for the record I am not actually a lurker this was my first visit.
