Retreat
Hi guys. Today Lance and I head off with the students and staff of our school for the yearend retreat. I have no official responsibilities and so I'm planning on using this time to relax. I need to pack in 5 minutes so I'll try to blog quickly.

I've been teaching an art class for homeschooled kids ages 12-16. I taught some classes at our arts centre last year and through that was brought into contact with a lady who organizes special classes for homeschoolers. I'm teaching pencil drawing for three two hour sessions. The classes are held at our public library. I have 22 students. I couldn't believe the response to the class. At the art centre I'd be lucky to get 6 kids. I really enjoy teaching this age group. We have tons of fun and joke around and laugh a lot. The kids are great. The positive prejudice I have about homeschooled kids is that they are respectful (yet mischievous), intelligent and fun. This has been confirmed yet again by these students (as well as by the Abarbanel clan). I initially wasn't looking forward to doing these classes -- it's a really busy time of year for me -- but have absolutely loved the two I've taught. There's just one left, but the lady who organized the classes has been talking to me about filling up my schedule with classes in the fall. I'd love to teach an art history/appreciation class. We'll see.

Okay, that's all for now. Have a good day my friends.

Oh, and I'd like to point out that my cousin (the cool one who was mistaken for my sister) has signed the guestbook. Welcome Erin.

bye.
