Sarah Mae |
Early Sunday morning my sister had a baby girl. Sarah Mae Abrahams arrived at 3:07 in the morning at the Cranbrook hospital. This is my sister and brother-in-law's first child and the first grandchild for my parents. She weighed 6lbs and she is beautiful. My brother says she looks smart. Cara (my sister) says full of wonder, "she is smart". I couldn't stop thinking about her all day Sunday. I am very happy for my sister and Andy, excited too.
I love the names that they chose - so simple and lovely. Sarah means princess and Mae means gift of God. Lance and I like simple old names - we're not expecting to have children super soon, but sometimes think about names. Got any suggestions - I like names like: Beth, Ruth, Emma, Jane. Boy names are way harder I think so suggestions in that area would be appreciated. I guess this is my first contest - but we won't know who wins (if anyone) for at least nine months (at least meaning there is no upcoming announcement as far as I know) If you suggest a name that Lance and I eventually choose for one of our children - you will be entitled to a yet to be determined prize.
I am busy with my job and trying to only work my 2hrs a day - this is what I get paid for and want to see if I can get the work done in that amount of time - see if the goal is realistic.
Went grocery shopping tonight. Trying to up the intake of produce. Reading cookbooks lately trying to find new simple tasty and nutricious recipes to try - we kind of get in a rut with the old stand bys (vegetarian chilli, mac 'n cheese, burritos, pasta) Tomorrow night I'm making chicken with seeded mustard sauce - I'll let you know how it is.
Nutrition tip of the day (I've been reading about this lately) CHEW YOUR FOOD WELL. This enables your body to digest it better (more surface area for enzymes to work), therefore giving you better access to the nutrients, and possibly helping to avoid the development of allergies. An added bonus is you slow down and enjoy your food more and realize when you are full and so don't overeat.
Lance and I have been trying this a bit - I forget all the time and just scarf food down. It's hard to do.
Okay, that's all for now. I enjoyed writing this blog, maybe I'm back.
Hope you are well.
