Thought you'd be interested in the latest developments in the Odegard household. We've been keeping a secret for a while and it's now time to share it with you.
WE'RE PREGNANT!
We're due June 19th, which makes me 13 weeks along.
We had an ultrasound yesterday - which I don't have pictures of since in Camrose they don't give you a picture to keep. It was incredible. I wouldn't exactly call it enjoyable since I had a bladder full of water and had to hold it for over an hour and then have a lady press on my abdomen. Ow. I was in so much pain that she let me go to the bathroom twice during the procedure. I was grateful.
She said while scanning me that this was going to take a while and also said something about needing to see around things - which I assumed were organs.
She said, things are looking good, but I'll call your husband in to explain what's going on. At this point I thought something was slightly wrong but nothing big. When he came in she turned the screen towards us and asked if we could tell what was going on. Not really. Those pictures are hard to read. I found online an image much like what we saw:

We couldn't really figure it out. She asked again and pointed to what she'd written below the image.
"Twin A" "Twin B".
Lance just kept saying "are you sure?". Of course she was. She has seen two babies as soon as she started - that's why she said it would take awhile!
Wow. Talk about a shocker. We are very excited and spend a lot of time laughing. This is a wild adventure we are embarking on. It is a huge unknown thing to become parents of one child and now we are looking forward to TWO!
I feel very blessed. Doubly blessed. Lance - as the provider in our home - is reeling with the thought of needing two of everything. Wow. He's bursting with excitment too. |

CONGRATULATIONS!!! I hadn't read down to the twin part, and was looking at your ultrasound thinking... that doesn't look quite normal... that looks like TWO HEADS! I am *so* excited for you! SO amazing. You are going to be one BUSY lady. Keep us updated on all the details ok? Did you have an early ultrasound because they heard two heartbeats, or was there another reason? This is GREAT!!! -de

Congratulations- how cool is that! Now this is the ultimate in multi-tasking getting two babies in one pregnancy! Yes, I was wondering about the early ultrasound too- was it because they heard two heartbeats?

Love you guys. The day after you told us I had visions of the two babes wiggling around in your tummy all night. Yes, what a grand adventure and huge blessing. Praying for you guys...the parents and the growing babes.

For Denise and Erin,
The early ultrasound was to confirm dates. We hadn't heard a heartbeat yet. But now we've seen two!

Hi Aimee, I have come by your blog here and there through the engler's blog (i used to work with alvin). WOW! what great news! sometimes my husband and I get overwhelmed with expecting ONE baby - but TWO! double the work, but double the joy!!! congrats!
-
Eddie, from work, says "LANCE!!!! (smile)...tell Aimee to get a pump so he can do some of the feeding". He's going to pass the word to Andrew Krause.

Aimz - every time I think about this I get that same LAUGH/CRY thing that I got on the phone - which I have had to explain to the people who I work around. AS an honorary auntie, I look forward to TWICE the spoilage!!!
I love you more than words - ALL of you!

OH WOW!! Love and prayers to a happy, and close to full term, pregnancy for you! You must be wearing a permanent smile on your face. And I understand Lance's feelings as well. Our kids were so close together that we had to double a lot of things too. God provides... and so do helpful friends with hand-me-downs.

Not that we're jealous or anything, but having one at a time seems to be a little managable. -Schulzy-
