Hi Blog friends,

I haven't written in a long time but will write a little now. Just finished having a baby shower for my good friend Jena Friedrich. She (and her husband Brent) had a baby boy - Leif William - on September 26. He's 15 days old and cute as ever. Jenna Jensen, another close friend hosted the party with me and we shook hands after everyone had left, declaring it a success. It cannot go without mentioning that Jenna J. made a Mouse cake that was so cute and definitely the centerpiece of the food table.

This weekend we were out in BC visiting my family. We had an excellent time. A good holiday - not without adventure though.

Platinum Blonde readers will know that my mom injured herself carving a pumpkin with a scalpel. To clear up a few questions... Carving a pumpkin on thanksgiving? Yes, we sometimes did this as kids because we didn't really "do" halloween in my family. So I bought a pumpkin and thought we could carve it as a family activity. Why was she using a scalpel? Another activity on the weekend was designing and silk screening family t-shirts - maybe my brother will post a photo or two of these. Part of making shirts involved cutting out stencils - a scalpel is reasonable for that, and so, someone thought it might also be good for the pumpkin. Mom was using it starting to carve the nose, while thinking, "Man this is really sharp, I better be careful" then, slip, she sliced into the back of her left thumb. Yuck yuck yuck. She cut really deep and severed for sure one tendon maybe two. She was going to have surgery to get reconnnected today, but it will now be sometime later this week. Please pray that she will get good treatmeant and heal well and speedily.

Needless to say, we did not finish carving the pumpkin. Infact, Steven punched through the face (what was there) of the pumpkin because of what it caused mom. I said I was glad he didn't punch the scalpel!

Well, it is late here and my short work week begins tomorrow. Back to somewhat of a routine.

More later.

Aimee

Ps. Plat blonde readers will know that Lance and I got to spend time with Melanie and Nathan. It was excellent! Really fun to get to hang out all four of us together. Definitely enjoyed getting to know Nathan more. We enjoyed their company and hospitality.
